Malala Yousefzai, an advocate for the rights of education for all. Most famously known for the attack on her by the Taliban for speaking out for the education rights for girls. She has been honoured with many awards and still continues her plight to raise her voice for those that cannot.
Last year when she spoke at the UN she sparked a revolution. Ears were opened and minds were inspired, young girls felt empowered. All by the grace of one girl, who with support stood up to those that tried to restrain the universal right to education for all. Her current focus is on the #BringBackOurGirls campaign. This issue may not be in the headlines anymore but still is important. Many girls are still missing from her families. This day is not just about Malala, it is for all of us to stand up to say that we will fight for the rights of education for all children, it is up to us to help them realise this dream. All children everywhere, regardless of sex, creed or race, has the right to an education.
After reading her autobiography I can understand her motivation, her struggles and why she will not stop this fight. CAREducation stands for these same ideals, and as her, we will not stop until this becomes a reality. Together we are stronger than the enemies of education.
