Ever wanted to do something different in life? Ever wanted to do a selfless deed such as charity work, help others, but don’t know how to get involved? Keep reading…
We at CARE Youth are always looking for volunteers to get involved. Over the last few years the team has continued to grow. In 2012 we had our first major fundraising event, The Rickshawalas Project which involved a team of 10. This year we did a CARE Trek to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro with a team of 35 people!
Now is your chance to get involved – make a difference – spread the awareness
So what do we do within CARE Youth? Our aims are simple – To raise awareness and fund raise for CAREducation Trust; To bring together like minded youth together through social meetings; To enhance the skills of youth, through community and society based activities.
We do this through a whole range of mediums. Over the years we have held car boot sales, had stalls at melas, hosted exquisite dinner and dance events, tribute concerts, and much more. Further to the events we hold, we have smaller sub teams which look after various aspects of the charity which are Fundraising, Awareness, IT, Media, and Volunteering.
The level of input you wish to give is totally up to you. If you wish to help out at an event we are holding then we can cater for that. If you wish to hold your own event for CARE then we are always happy to help you with that as well. Your presence and input is valuable to us in any sense, and if you then decide to join us in one of our smaller sub teams then that is brilliant.
The charity works at a grass root level. This means that every penny donated goes directly to the cause. For this reason we run on a non-admin cost basis. This is one of the reasons why we are unique and different to many other charities.
What does your involvement mean to CARE? We feel every person that can help is unique to our team. Your skills and ideas that you bring to the table are invaluable. And for CARE, you bring a whole new audience to what we do, so already you have helped us spread the awareness.
Why should I volunteer? Whether you are studying or working, volunteering your time and energy is rewarding in more ways than you can imagine. Your involvement doesn’t have to be through the means of donations. Your time and effort you put in makes a difference to the world. For you – you are building a great network of people with various skills involved in CARE. Universities and companies love to know your volunteering stories as it shows you are selfless and give something back to society. But most importantly the rewards are really with the happiness you are giving to the children we support. Knowing that they will be that much closer to a happier and better educated life.
If you wish to know more about the projects we support please take a look at our website. If you want to come and meet us then keep an eye out for events we are attending or holding and come along to see us.
You can begin your involvement right now by following us on Facebook and Twitter if you haven’t done so already to keep up to date with the latest blogs, news and events.

Here are some words from some of the CARE Youth Team members on their experience and journey through CARE…
“My journey with CARE began in the 2010 when I volunteered at one of the centres in Bhuj for a couple of weeks. The memories, stories and experiences I shared with the children left a touching memory in my heart forever. It was an amazing experience to see the incredible difference CARE makes to the lives of thousands of children. It has taught me a lot about life and how you can be happy with even the smallest things in life, which we too often take for granted every day.” – Janvi
“CARE has made me realise that there is more to charity than just donating in monetary ways. It has allowed me to give something back to the world by being involved in projects and seeing the difference each penny really does makes. Personally it has allowed me to increase my network in ways I could not have imagined, and has given me another family – my CARE family. I have learnt that what we do for others and the world will remain and will be immortal. Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do – lets make a change!” – Kushal
“CARE has made me who I am, a self-less action has turned into an unimaginable reward.” – Nirav
“Since working alongside CAREducaton Trust, I found that I have learnt so much. It has affected all parts of my life, friends, family, work, passions. From the inception of Rickshawalas, I had been involved in all aspects of the planning and organising, and to complete that journey was a dream come true. Not only did I experience a life changing adventure but I got to see first hand the impact CARE has on so many lives. For me there is no greater reward than giving, and I will continue to ensure the great work of CARE continues, changing the world one child at a time.” – Dilisha
“Since joining CARE it has allowed me to look at the world in a different perspective and I feel that I now understand what real giving and sharing is about. I have met such a great team who are so passionate, authentic and inspirational which transpires greatly in their thoughts and self-less actions. CARE will continue to flourish as long as people believe change can be made!” – Nikita
“CARE has allowed me to help others achieve what I have been so fortunate to have – an education – a chance to change the future. The opportunities are endless!” – Kavi
“CARE has opened my eyes to a world I never really paid attention to. A world where there are people who are less fortunate than us. I am privileged enough to have experienced this first hand and spent time with such children. Working with CARE has allowed me to change the lives of so many children. Seeing a smile on their face is priceless!” – Kushan
“I personally think that giving back has played a vital part in my personal and business success to date and of course, love a good old challenge! Our goal to help those awesome kids WILL be achieved!” – Bhavik
Awesome! Keep up the fantastic work!
